Sydney collaborated with architectural designer Jerry Goodman on the design of this private garden in Montecito. The Spanish-style house adjacent to a private golf course is set in a woodland of native Coast Live Oak trees. Sydney created a simple yet bold plant palette that included species like the Red Leaf Redbud tree, dark green and purple leaf Plectranthus, and Tasmanian Tree Fern. White plaster walls capped with terra cotta tiles give privacy to the entry courtyard, which has a comfortable sitting area and a tiled wall fountain centered on the front door. The back yard includes lush woodland gardens and a covered living area with sandstone fireplace.
