Part of the historic Knapp Estate, this Montecito residence was built on what was once the music pavilion. The remodeled house and new gardens were integrated with the existing gardens and terraces. A new swimming pool was added to the existing sunken Italian garden, the original upper terrace with restored fountain was retained and is featured at the main entry of the house, and Sydney added a fruit orchard allée to a previously undeveloped portion of the property. The gardens also display ancient pottery, statuary, architectural columns and other antiquities collected by the owners.
